What is the Shared Values Project of IPF Atid?

PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Shared Values Project, launched by IPF Atid, unites an international network of exceptional Israeli and American Jewish leaders to shape discourse and policy. Its mission: to forge a dynamic, interdependent community of emerging Jewish visionaries in the U.S. and Israel, driven to effect transformative change in their home countries and strengthen the bonds between them.

  • Secure: Israelis deserve to live free from violence, terrorism, and external threats. Ensuring their safety requires a resolute stand against terrorism, paired with proactive diplomacy—including engagement with Palestinians—and a robust U.S.-Israel partnership that remains a cornerstone of Israeli security.
  • Jewish: As the Jewish homeland, Israel’s Jewish character is central to its identity. It should embody Jewish values in action, striving to be an inclusive haven that embraces the rich diversity of the Jewish people worldwide.
  • Democratic: Israel, as a Jewish state, must thrive as a vibrant democracy, upholding equal rights, protections, and opportunities for all its citizens—Jews and non-Jews alike—consistent with the principles enshrined in its Declaration of Independence.

Each year, the program selects a cohort of approximately 24 fellows—half Israeli, half American—to participate in two pivotal summits, one in Tel Aviv and one in Washington, D.C. After completing both summits, fellows collaborate to design and launch initiatives that reflect the Shared Values Project’s core principles. Beyond the summits, participants engage in year-long programming and join dedicated working groups, sustaining their commitment to the project’s goals over a three-year horizon. Applications are submitted by invitation only.

Shared Values Project Fellows pay a $500 participation fee to participate in this program. Round-trip flights to Tel Aviv and Washington, D.C. for both summits, along with hotel accommodations, will be covered by Israel Policy Forum.

“This community has been key in my ability to support the hostage families following October 7. Mark [another SVP Participant] is the one who originally connected me with the Wallenberg Center. Thanks to the Shared Values Project, I’ve made amazing connections and received immense support from this community of top-notch intellectuals with big hearts.”—Dona Raz Levy, Hostages and Missing Families Forum

Mission

To build an exceptional community of Jewish leaders in the United States and Israel dedicated to advocating for their shared democratic values, building solidarity, and exchanging insights for the years to come. Through collaborative efforts, our goal is to nurture strong, interdependent bonds between these communities while fostering and preserving the Zionist vision of a secure, Jewish, and democratic Israel strengthened by the shared values at the root of the U.S.-Israel alliance.

What happens at each summit?

At the Shared Values Project (SVP) summits, fellows engage in peer-led sessions exploring the state of democracy and security in Israel, examining both the challenges threatening our shared commitments to Israel’s security, Jewish character and democracy, and the opportunities to safeguard and strengthen it. Participants connect with influential leaders and changemakers at the forefront of defending democracy, gaining insights through high-level briefings on Israeli politics, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the essence of Jewish peoplehood. Fellows exchange best practices with their international peers, tackling critical areas such as policy and political advocacy, grassroots mobilization, communications strategy, depolarization efforts, and legislative influence. The summits also feature hands-on workshops, honing skills in design thinking, network mapping, storytelling, and impact measurement, equipping fellows to drive meaningful change.

“I’ve leaned on this group, particularly the Israelis in the community, to help inform my perspective on current events in Israel and the U.S.-Israel relationship. When I have questions, they are my go-to source. Many also made time to meet me in Israel and introduced me to local political leaders.”—Zak Malamed, Former Congressional Candidate
