Amanda Achtman (Ottawa) is a political staffer to a Conservative and foreign-policy minded member of Canada’s parliament. Previously, she studied political science in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta and recently completed a master’s degree in John Paul II Philosophical Studies at the Catholic University of Lublin in Poland. Being raised Catholic by her halachically Jewish parents motivates her to defend freedom of conscience and religion, while encouraging serious and respectful engagement with theological differences. An alumna of the Philos Project’s Leadership Institute trip to Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and Jordan, Amanda leads the Philos Canada chapter.
