Nathaniel Shils, Philadelphia

Nathaniel Shils is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and a native of Philadelphia. His research examines how Israelis and Palestinians are adapting to post-Oslo political realities. For the past two years he taught Middle East politics, US foreign policy, comparative ethnic and national conflict, and international law at Bryn Mawr College. In addition to teaching and working with a variety of student activist groups, he has been involved in public outreach and local education about Israeli and Palestinian politics through the Penn Middle East Center. Starting in the fall of 2022, he will be a postdoctoral fellow at the UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies.
