David A. Sherman is the Chairman of Benj. E. Sherman & Sons, Inc., a Chicago-based real estate firm, which he joined in 1986. The firm has 100 employees focusing on apartment ownership around the country. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

David is the past Chairman of the Israel Action Network, the leading national organization combating the boycott, divestiture, and sanctions movement attempting to delegitimize Israel. David is a board member of the Crown Family Foundation. David is also a past board member of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and the Alliance for Middle East Peace.

David is past Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, the past Chairman of the Jewish Community Relations Council, and past Campaign Chairman of the Jewish United Fund. In addition, he is the past President of the American Liver Foundation’s Illinois chapter.

David’s recognition and awards for his service include: The Julius Rosenwald Memorial Award in 2012, presented by the Jewish Federation for lifetime service to the Jewish Community; Distinguished Leadership Award, American Liver Foundation, in 2006; Distinguished Leadership Award, American Jewish Congress; the Henry Jackson Pro-Israel Advocacy Award awarded by CityPAC in 1994; and the Young Leadership Award given by the Jewish Federation in 1994.

David was also a Fellow in Leadership Greater Chicago’s class of 1992.

David is married to Susan and they have five children.
