Israel has become one of the hardest things to talk about—even among people who care deeply about it. On Disputed Territory, host Shanie Reichman sits down with a range of voices to tackle the topics dominating the discourse around Israel today. Grounded in a vision of a secure, Jewish, democratic Israel, Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation, and a strong Israel-Diaspora relationship, Disputed Territory equips listeners to engage thoughtfully, where others see only division.

Meet the Host: Shanie Reichman
Shanie Reichman is the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Director of IPF Atid at Israel Policy Forum, where she works to elevate the discourse around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and engage the next generation of Jewish leaders. She is also the host of Disputed Territory: Real Talk About Israel, a new podcast bringing together voices across the ideological spectrum for honest and unafraid conversations about Israel, Zionism, and the increasingly divisive conversations about them in the American Jewish community.
An influential and rising voice among young Jewish professionals, Reichman brings a distinctive generational perspective to the most critical issues impacting the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, challenging binary thinking while making the case for pragmatism, nuance, and hope. She speaks to audiences around the country, inspiring a new generation to grapple seriously with the complexities of the conflict and imagine a better future for Israelis and Palestinians.
Reichman is the founding chair of the Forum Dvorah U.S. Committee, which advances women’s participation in Israeli national security and foreign policy decision-making. Her writing has appeared in The Forward, eJewishPhilanthropy, the Jerusalem Post, The Times of Israel, Hey Alma, Jewish Unpacked, and International Policy Digest. She is a participating author in Young Zionist Voices and is pursuing her M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. Shanie is of Ashkenazi and Nash Didan descent. Nash Didan are from a remote Aramaic-speaking Jewish tribe in the mountains of modern-day Iran.
