37. Improve Gaza’s Electricity Supply

Electricity is available in Gaza for 11 hours per day on average (although some parts reach 18-20 hours)—a substantial improvement since 2018 when electricity was available for only 4 hours per day, yet still insufficient for economic development and productivity growth. To improve electricity supply, Israel, the PA, and the international community should advance the Gas for Gaza (G4G) project, which has secured Qatari and EU funding commitments and Israeli and Palestinian buy-in, although the details are not finalized yet. In addition to the G4G project, Gaza electricity needs investment in upgrading the grid and expansion of renewable energy projects.
