8. Expand the USSC’s Mission

The United States Security Coordinator in Jerusalem is vital to American interests in Israel and the West Bank and one of the most effective tools in our diplomatic and security toolbox. The USSC has unique credibility with both Israeli and Palestinian officials, and is often able to operate in spaces that other American actors are not. The USSC should be ensured enough funding to not only maintain its mission but grow, enabling it to be more effective in training the PASF and assist in operational planning, help set up new units for the Palestinian civil police that will reestablish PA control in Jenin and Nablus, and continue overseeing coordination between the IDF and the PASF.
