Israel Policy Forum welcomes the opening of diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco. This is a particularly meaningful step for the large population of Israeli Jews of Moroccan heritage. We also recognize that unilateral American recognition of Moroccan claims to Western Sahara may have global precedent-setting ramifications, including for the West Bank, and we hope that normalization between Israel and Morocco, as with other normalization agreements, contributes to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through a viable two-state outcome rather than making it harder to achieve.

Israel Policy Forum
Israel Policy Forum was founded in 1993 to build support in the American Jewish community and in Washington for the diplomatic vision of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
